Do you know that for the past 30 years, the rate of global warming has accelerated? The environment is important to us, it determines our survival. Our class has thus taken action as a response to Earth Hour, create awareness about the issue of climate change and inspire people to alleviate some of Earth's sufferings.
Earth Hour is a global event organized by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature, also known as World Wildlife Fund), asking households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and other electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change.
Hello! Welcome to our environmental blog, we are very pleased to have you here!
We are a group of teenagers from Tampines Junior College embarking on an environmental Service Learning Project.
Our approach
(i) Create awareness of environmental degradation through a mini video about what we have to say about the environment
(ii) Provide environmental education to the college - Encourage students/working staff to pledge to do a small part for the deteriorating environment.
(iii) Share tips on how the community can inculcate environmental-friendly habits in their daily lives
About our title
This project is titled "09S08 Votes Earth" as a response to Earth Hour. "Vote Earth" is the campaign for Earth Hour, and since we have decided to take action and do our part, hence the title.

We are setting up a booth in college on Monday, 19th April 2010, 11AM onwards in front of the canteen. We hope to engage as many people as we can to pledge for the environment, and collate the pledges in a poster format after providing some environmental education to our college mates. We have collaborated with World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF Singapore) for this project, thus feel free to ORDER an exclusive EARTH HOUR T-SHIRT/purchase any other WWF merchandise from us!
